My Singapore Arrival - March 2025 entry 4

After an unforgettable flight, it was time to say goodbye to my suite in the sky. Honestly, stepping off that plane felt like leaving a dream. But adventure was waiting, and I was ready.

The moment I walked into Changi Airport, I knew this wasn’t just any airport—it was an experience. As I made my way toward baggage claim, I stepped into a lush, open space with a waterfall pouring from the ceiling. A waterfall. In an airport. Singapore wasn’t wasting any time impressing me.

As I stood there in awe, I heard my name being called.

“Miss Marcy, Miss Marcy.”

I turned to see a man holding a sign with my name. (Yes, my name. On a sign. Like I was in a movie.) He whisked me away to grab my bags, then escorted me to a waiting car.

Arriving at Raffles: A Royal Welcome

It was Sunday morning in Singapore, and the first thing I noticed? The heat.

Not just warm. Not just humid. Hot. Like really hot. The kind of heat that makes you question every fabric choice you’ve ever made.

We zipped through the stunning cityscape, weaving past vibrant colors, sleek modern buildings, and lush greenery. When we finally pulled up to my hotel, Raffles Singapore, I actually gasped.

It looked like a royal palace.

I stepped out of the car, half expecting someone to tell me there had been a mistake—who am I to be staying here?! When does this start to feel normal? Pinch me!

Settling In & Meeting the Team

My room was beyond stunning. Classic elegance with modern luxury—high ceilings, intricate architecture, and pure opulence. After so many hours of travel, I took my time unwinding, showering, and—most importantly—figuring out what to wear in this heat. Definitely not suit weather.

I wandered around a bit, needing to stretch my legs after the long flight. Then, it was time to get to work.

First challenge? An elevator.

(You know how I feel about elevators.)

But I powered through, met with the team, and we set off to visit the stores we’re building. Driving through Singapore’s streets was incredible— a mosaic of colors, cultures, and stunning architecture. Every corner felt like a scene from a futuristic travel magazine.

A Nightcap with History: The Singapore Sling

Back at Raffles, it was time for something special—a Singapore Sling.

This isn’t just any cocktail. It was invented at my hotel, and when you’re staying at the birthplace of an iconic drink, you have to try it. It was strong, but after a whirlwind day of flights, waterfalls, luxury hotels, and city exploration—it was exactly what I needed to send me off to sleep.

Tomorrow? More work, more adventure, and more moments that make me wonder how this is real life.
