What Is The 5-5-5 Breathing Technique
The 5-5-5 breathing technique, also known as Box Breathing, involves inhaling, breath retention, and exhaling in order to reduce stress and anxiety.
Why Use It
Simply put... to Claim Your Calm!
Box breathing is helpful regardless of whether you’re going to combat with your toddler, or your boss. As a matter of fact, it’s actually a very simple technique used by Navy Seals during combat to relax and get focused.
How To Do The 5-5-5 Breathing Technique
STEP 1: Inhale very slowly through your nose for 5 seconds
STEP 2: Hold the breath for 5 seconds
STEP 3: Release the breath through your mouth for 5 seconds
STEP 4: Repeat steps 1 through 3
Continue this process for either one full minute or 5-10 cycles.
As a result, your mind should calm thus allowing you to refocus your energy and attention with reduced anxiety.
